Edtech Podcasts Part 2

In December 2013, I wrote about listening to podcasts with the Stitcher app.  I am still enjoying the learning I glean through the edtech podcasts.  If you have not experimented with Stitcher, I want to strongly encourage you to try this tool for a quick and easy learning opportunity.  Several podcasts I've begun to follow:

To find a particular podcast or topic, click thebutton found in both the mobile app and the web app.  Experiment with different topics as the podcasts are easy to organize into station playlists by clicking the PLUS SIGN:

A teacher recently said to me, "If you want to learn something new, you can find a way."  That is so true, but I understand finding time for continued learning is challenging in our hectic lifestyles.  As a lifelong learner, yet a busy working mom, I must be creative in squeezing in time for learning.  I listen to podcasts on the way to work or while sorting laundry.  I read blogs while waiting for my daughter at gymnastics (I love that they provide great wifi)!  I recently found a useful tool for this on-the-go learning style called Sound Gecko.  When I run across an article, blog, etc. that sounds interesting, I copy the URL into my Sound Gecko account on my phone and listen when I have a few minutes.  So far, the free version has served me well, however they do offer an upgrade for $2.95 per month.  View details here.

EdTech Podcasts Using Stitcher

Learning can happen in short, quick bits of time - while you workout, while you drive to and from work, while you clean the house, etc.  Many great audio podcasts are available and FREE from which you can easily glean new technology resources and tools.  I enjoy listening to podcasts with the app, Stitcher Radio for Podcasts.

I enjoy Stitcher, because the podcasts stream instead of taking up space on my mobile device or desktop computer.  I, also, do not need to worry about syncing my device to my computer.  Once the Stitcher app is downloaded to the device, begin by creating stations based on interests.  For example, I created an EdTech Station.  Other stations might include politics, spiritual, education, parenting, family, news, etc.

Although my preference is Stitcher Radio for Podcasts for iphone, you can also listen from your computer by logging into your Stitcher account through a web browser:
